Cruise lines often will issue a credit to the passenger for the excess amount he or she had paid if the cruise had gone down after they had already paid for their tickets. Say your cruise was discounted by $100.00 after you had already paid full price. In this case if you contact your cruise representative you might be able to get a $100.00 credit for spending on-board during your voyage. With this credit you could pay for $100.00 worth of drinks, indulge yourself in $100.00 worth of spa treatments, or take $100.00 worth of shore excursions.

Holland America Cruise Credits

HAL is combining cruise credits, $50.00 worth on their current Alaska special, with both discounted prices and 3^rd and 4^th person free for a limited time on some of their popular Alaskan cruises for 2009. RCCL Offers Onboard Credits for Alaska Cruises in 2009.

After pulling one of it's ships out of the Alaska rotation, Royal Caribbean in an effort to boost bookings for its Alaska sailings, is offering a $200 onboard credit per person for its Alaska cruisetours for bookings made through April 30. RCCL is also offering 50% reduction on deposits for all Royal Caribbean bookings from their popular cruise-tours to the cruise itself if made by Feb. 28, 2009.
